How to create a split-screen video on iPhone

1. STEP 01

   Find the stacked-layers icon on the right

   Tap the three stacked layers to open My Templates. If the toolbar is collapsed, expand it using its small upward arrow. The circular arrows above it swap the camera views.

2. STEP 02

   Tap + in the upper-right corner

   The + button creates a template. When the list is empty, the large yellow button in the center opens the same screen.

3. STEP 03

   Choose the first card: Split

   Choose Split and an aspect ratio, then Continue. In the editor, select the split object to open its toolbar.

4. STEP 04

   Identify Layout, Spacing, and Border

   Layout is a rectangle with a top band and two lower columns. Spacing is two narrow frames side by side. Border is a dashed frame. Match the numbers to the icons.

5. STEP 05

   Choose side by side or stacked, then confirm

   Two vertical frames mean side by side; two horizontal frames mean stacked. Confirm using the white checkmark at the bottom right.

6. STEP 06

   Adjust spacing with the white slider knob

   Return to the toolbar and tap the two-frame Spacing icon. Drag the white knob; 0 means no gap. Confirm with the bottom checkmark.

7. STEP 07

   Drag the white handle between the views

   Expand the preview with its diagonal-arrow button. For stacked views, drag the white divider handle up or down; for side-by-side views, drag left or right. Use the inward arrows at the upper right to return.

8. STEP 08

   Finish with the yellow checkmark at the top

   Confirm any open setting panel first. Then tap the yellow checkmark at the upper right to save the whole template. The white checkmark at the bottom only confirms one setting.

9. STEP 09

   Return to the camera and tap the red record button

   After saving, return to the camera and check that your composition is applied. Tap the red circle to record. If you are still in My Templates, apply the saved template and use × at the upper left to return.
